Southern Coast Tuk-Tuk Escape
- 01DAY 1
Arrive in Negombo
Transfer from the airport to your hotel in Negombo. Meet the rental team, check documents and complete a practical tuk-tuk driving lesson before taking the vehicle.
- 02DAY 2
Negombo to the southern coast
Begin your self-drive journey on ordinary roads, avoiding expressways. Break the drive towards Bentota for refreshments and arrive before dark.
- 03DAY 3
Bentota at your own pace
Keep driving light today. Spend time near the beach or choose a separately quoted river outing, with room to become more comfortable in the tuk-tuk.
- 04DAY 4
Coastal roads to Galle
Continue south at an unhurried pace. Park outside busy pedestrian areas and explore Galle Fort on foot before settling into your coastal stay.
- 05DAY 5
Galle & the nearby beaches
Use the day for cafés, fort streets and short local drives. Your route notes help you choose stops while leaving the day flexible.
- 06DAY 6
A little farther along the coast
Drive towards the Weligama area for another coastal overnight. Beach conditions and activities vary by season, so ask locally before swimming or booking an outing.
- 07DAY 7
Return towards Negombo
Start early for the return on permitted roads, with frequent breaks. Hand back the tuk-tuk after inspection and stay near the airport before departure.
- 08DAY 8
Departure from Sri Lanka
Transfer to the airport. Leave time for any final rental paperwork and your onward check-in.

Before you go
A valid home-country licence and the required local permissions must be checked with the rental provider before confirmation. Driving practice, vehicle insurance, excess and refundable deposit will be explained in your quote. Tuk-tuks do not use expressways; avoid night driving and allow generous breaks. Fuel, parking, entry fees and vehicle deposits are additional. The starting estimate assumes two adults sharing one vehicle and one room.
